Zelensky fears possible election of J.D. Vance as US vice president

Volodymyr Zelensky believes that the election of J.D. Vance as US Vice President would be a dangerous event for Ukraine, because the Republican is ready to “surrender Ukrainian territories.”

Zelensky stated this in an interview with The New Yorker.

“For us, these are dangerous signals coming from a potential vice president. I have to say that this did not happen with Trump,” he said.

In March, Senator Vance called for restrictions on arms supplies to Ukraine if a number of Pentagon recommendations were not followed.

In February, he also spoke about the situation in Ukraine – according to him, the conflict should end with a peace agreement, but in order to sign it, Kyiv will have to cede territory.

Vance also expressed the opinion that the White House's reluctance to negotiate with Russian leader Vladimir Putin is absurd.
