Russia imported a large batch of Chinese diamonds in August
In August, Russia imported a large consignment of diamonds from China for the first time.
As RIA Novosti reports, citing data from the Chinese customs service, the volume of the shipment amounted to more than 35 thousand carats worth $12.4 million.
The last time Russia bought diamonds was in 2013, but in small quantities – for $199 thousand.
Earlier, Deputy Head of the Russian Federal Customs Service (FCS) Vladimir Ivin reported that China's share in Russia's foreign trade is 33%, making Beijing Moscow's largest trading partner.
