Iranian Embassy: Israeli strikes on Beirut significantly escalate
The Iranian Embassy in Lebanon called Israeli airstrikes on Beirut an escalation of a qualitatively new level, as a result of which “the perpetrators will be punished.”
Al Jazeera quotes a statement from the Iranian diplomatic mission.
Before this, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, speaking at the UN General Assembly in New York, threatened that the “long arms of Israel” would be able to reach the “tyrants of Tehran” anywhere in Iran and the Middle East.
On September 27, the Israel Defense Forces announced another “precision strike” on Beirut. According to the IDF press service, the attack targeted the “central headquarters” of the Hezbollah movement, which is located “under residential buildings.”
The head of Hezbollah was the target of an Israeli strike, Axios reported. According to Reuters, Hassan Nasrallah is alive.
