Pentagon: US does not have details of new Israeli attack on Beirut
The United States is not privy to the details of Israel's new attack on Beirut, and Washington has not received notification from Tel Aviv of plans to carry out this strike.
This statement was made on Friday, September 27, by Pentagon spokesperson Sabrina Singh.
“First of all, I would like to note that we did not receive advance notice of the intention to carry out this operation,” RIA Novosti quotes her as saying.
Singh added that US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin had a conversation with his Israeli counterpart Yoav Galant already in the midst of the operation.
Earlier, the Iranian Embassy in Lebanon said that Israeli strikes on Beirut significantly increase the escalation.
