China, Brazil and other countries will create a “Friends of the World” platform for Ukraine

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said that China, Brazil and other countries in the Global South intend to organize a platform called “Friends of Peace”, which will be aimed at helping to peacefully resolve the Ukrainian crisis.

He said this at a meeting with the special representative of the Brazilian President Celso Amorim in New York.

“China, Brazil and their like-minded countries from the global South will create a “Friends of the World” platform for [разрешению] Ukrainian crisis,” Wang Yi is quoted as saying on the website of the Chinese Foreign Ministry.

He noted that this association will be open and it intends to strive “not for competition and confrontation, but for inclusive dialogue.”

Earlier, Ukraine called not to support China’s peace plan to resolve the conflict.
