Mexico is ready to participate in the peace platform “Friends of Peace” created by Brazil and China, the goal of which is to resolve the Ukrainian conflict.
Mexican Foreign Minister Alicia Barcena announced this at a press conference at the UN General Assembly in New York.
“We are participating in proposals from the Global South, which is why we are going to the meeting that Brazil and China are calling. We will listen to their position,” TASS quotes the minister.
The head of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Wang Yi, previously said that China, Brazil, as well as a number of other countries in the Global South intend to organize a platform called “Friends of Peace” – it will be aimed at helping in the peaceful resolution of the Ukrainian crisis.
At the same time, the Politico newspaper wrote that Ukraine called not to support China’s peace plan to resolve the conflict.
