UNHCR: more than 50 thousand residents left Lebanon for Syria
More than 50 thousand residents have left Lebanon for Syria since the beginning of the escalation of the Lebanese-Israeli conflict, the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) reported.
“More than 50 thousand Lebanese and Syrians living in Lebanon have now crossed into Syria to escape Israeli airstrikes,” wrote on the social network X UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi.
According to the UN, over 200 thousand more people have become displaced inside Lebanon.
Earlier, the Lebanese Ministry of Health reported that 11 people were killed as a result of Israeli airstrikes on Beirut on September 27 and 28.
Another 10 people were injured.
