Chinese Foreign Ministry: unilateral sanctions persecution will not bring monopoly advantages
Unilateral sanctions bullying will not bring monopoly advantages, Beijing stands for an equal and orderly multipolarity and supports each country in protecting legitimate rights, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said during the general debate of the UN General Assembly.
“In the face of one-sided persecution such as sanctions and blockades, China resolutely supports each country in protecting its legitimate rights and maintaining fairness and openness in the international system,” the press service of the Chinese Foreign Ministry quoted him as saying.
Wang Yi emphasized that “sanctions pressure will not bring monopoly advantages” and “every country’s right to a better life” cannot be taken away.
According to him, it is necessary to strive to ensure that all countries have their own place and role in the multipolar system.
“We must implement genuine multilateralism, oppose hegemony and power politics, and realize the democratization of international relations,” the Chinese minister said.
Earlier, Wang Yi said at a meeting with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly that the United States needs to stop imposing sanctions and inciting bloc confrontation.
