The Austrian government will submit its resignation next week, but will continue to work until a new cabinet is appointed following the parliamentary elections.
This was stated by the President of the Republic Alexander Van der Bellen.
“Next week the government will submit its resignation, and I will instruct them to continue working until a new government is appointed,” TASS quotes him as saying.
Earlier, Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer admitted the defeat of his Austrian People's Party faction in the parliamentary elections.
