Lavrov: Russia is glad to see all initiatives that will help the settlement in Ukraine

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Moscow is happy with all initiatives that will help resolve the crisis in Ukraine.

“We will welcome any initiatives that will lead to the desired result,” he said during a speech at the 79th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

According to him, to resolve the situation it is necessary to eliminate the “root causes of the conflict.”

Earlier, Lavrov said that NATO is trying to gain a foothold in the Transcaucasus, Central Asia and the Asia-Pacific region.
