Kortunov spoke about the possible consequences of Iran's attack on Israel

The scientific director of the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC), Andrei Kortunov, told RT about the likely consequences that could occur after Iran’s attack on Israel.

“Much depends on what losses and destruction there will be on the Israeli side, what the public reaction will be. At a minimum, we can say that the escalation in southern Lebanon will continue, this has already been announced and there will be an additional incentive to expand the scale of the ground operation. In any case, there will be targeted strikes on the territory of Iran, possibly on the territory of Syria,” he said.

Kortunov added that operations in the West Bank of Jordan will most likely also continue.

“But, I repeat, a lot depends on what the consequences of the Iranian strike will be. We remember how in the spring Iran attacked Israel, but then this attack had practically no serious consequences. And there was no answer. There were assumptions that this time a different class of missiles were used and not all were intercepted, but so far there is no data from Israel,” concluded RT’s interlocutor.

Earlier, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced a missile attack on Israel.
