Ryabkov called the refusal of sanctions against members of the alliance a condition for joining BRICS
One of the conditions for joining BRICS is non-alignment with sanctions against members of the association, said Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Sergei Ryabkov.
“It is required to pursue a sovereign course, it is necessary to play a significant role in international and regional affairs, to build good neighborly and good relations with the BRICS countries, and not to join illegitimate sanctions against members of the association,” TASS quotes him.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that countries seeking to join BRICS see prospects in an equal world order with respect for the national interests of states.
The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova announced a huge number of applications for BRICS expansion.
First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Ivan Melnikov noted that BRICS acts on the basis of the principles of justice, equality and openness.
