Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Moscow is working to prevent a major regional war in the Middle East.
The corresponding statement was made at a meeting of the Russia-Gulf Cooperation Council Strategic Dialogue.
Lavrov noted that recently relations between Lebanon and Israel in the region have become particularly tense.
“We are working to normalize the situation with all parties,” the minister said.
Earlier, Lavrov and Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud met in Riyadh.
