Russian President Vladimir Putin, at a meeting with Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam Tran Thanh Manh, expressed hope that Vietnamese leader To Lam would accept the invitation to BRICS events in Kazan.
“I ask you to convey my best wishes to President Comrade To Lam. I hope that he will be able to take advantage of the invitation to take part in BRICS events in the outreach format,” TASS quotes Putin as saying.
Earlier, Tran Thanh Man named Moscow one of his primary partners.
In August, Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov held talks with representatives of Vietnam, Laos, Mali, Myanmar and the Central African Republic.
