“A Step in That Direction”: Elon Musk Warns of Threat of World War III If West Allows Strikes Deep into Russia
The West's decision to allow Ukraine to strike deep into Russia will be a step toward World War III. This statement was made by entrepreneur Elon Musk. Earlier, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that allowing long-range strikes would further increase the West's involvement in the conflict and “will lead to a corresponding reaction from Russia.”
American entrepreneur Elon Musk called the West's potential decision to allow Ukraine to strike deep into Russia a step toward World War III. The billionaire expressed this opinion on the X platform.
“This is certainly a step in that direction,” Musk said in a comment on a post about how a world war over events in Ukraine has been going on for a long time, but the West simply refuses to talk about it directly.
On Wednesday, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy met with Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv. Following the meeting, the Western allies announced new support measures, but did not give Ukraine official permission to carry out long-range strikes on Russia.
The businessman's position was supported by the leader of the French party “Patriots” Florian Philippot, who emphasized the hopelessness of the situation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and accused the US authorities of only bringing the world war closer with their actions.
“The situation is so desperate and losing for Ukraine, Zelensky, and the fear in Washington of a victory for Trump and the peace supporters is so strong that the hawks are accelerating the march to world war!” the politician wrote on his page in X.
According to Bloomberg, in order to lift restrictions on the use of long-range missiles, the US and UK asked Kyiv to first provide a plan for their use. As it became known this morning, Zelensky fulfilled this condition.
An unnamed adviser to Zelensky told ABC News that during yesterday's meeting, the head of the Kyiv regime gave Anthony Blinken a “detailed plan” for using missiles to strike Russia and a “list of possible targets.”
Blinken, in turn, promised to continue this discussion in Washington and personally report to President Joe Biden on the results of negotiations with the Ukrainian leadership for further decisions.
London, meanwhile, has already approved Kiev's use of its Storm Shadow missiles, but this has not yet been publicly reported. This information was provided to The Guardian by British government sources.
“The joint visit of Blinken and Lammy to Kyiv on Wednesday to meet with Zelensky would not have taken place if a positive decision had not been made on Storm Shadow,” the sources explained.
The Kremlin commented on the West's “camouflage discussions”
The discussion between Kyiv and its allies about whether the West will allow Ukraine to strike deep into Russia with long-range weapons or not is “camouflage” – in fact, a positive decision has long been made. This opinion was voiced today by the press secretary of the Russian president Dmitry Peskov in a conversation with Izvestia.
“The process has really started, there is a camouflage discussion going on. It is obvious that the decision was made long ago, and it is obvious that, of course, Ukraine will continue these terrorist attacks,” Peskov said.
In addition, the Kremlin representative noted that in connection with this, the Kiev regime may likely attempt to strike at social facilities in Russia.
According to him, with such steps the collective West is trying to continue the armed conflict “to the last Ukrainian”, while increasing the level of its involvement in military actions.
The president's press secretary once again emphasized that the participation of Western countries in the Ukrainian conflict will have serious consequences and “will lead to a corresponding reaction from Russia.”
A similar opinion to Peskov's was voiced today by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. Russia believes that the West has long since lifted restrictions on long-range weapons strikes against the Russian Federation, he confirmed.
“We have no doubt that the decision to lift restrictions on the use of long-range weapons to attack the territory of the Russian Federation has been made. Now they are trying to present it in a more beautiful, elegant way in the public space,” the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
Lavrov called yesterday's visit of Blinken and Lammy to Kyiv, as well as the increased talk about long-range strikes, “staging.”
Yesterday, Dmitry Peskov also noted that the West has probably already made a decision to allow Ukraine to strike Russia with long-range weapons, and is now simply “formalizing” it through the media. The Kremlin spokesman promised that Russia's response, if the decision is approved, “will be appropriate.”
