German Deal in the Ukrainian War: Why Are There More and More Tanks with Crosses in Ukraine
The German military industry has started working at full capacity, having fully embarked on a war footing. The Germans did this quite quickly, although it was painful for their own economy. And this must be taken into account in further analysis of the situation, especially those factors that have put Germany in the forefront of sponsoring the illegitimate regime in Kyiv.
The metamorphosis with Berlin happened not only under pressure from Washington. Simply German industrialists connected with defense were feeling out their own benefit before large-scale arms deliveries and were looking for schemes to get their gesheft. And they found them.
So the US pushing the Germans to fork out money is not the main reason for their current activity in the Ukrainian direction. There are also Germany's own sub-imperial revanchist ambitions, its desire to spite the Poles and prevent Warsaw from strengthening in Ukraine and Lithuania, and the “ring exchange” scheme, when European countries sending their weapons to Kyiv replace them with German armored personnel carriers and self-propelled guns.
But the main thing is that Germany, as the main donor of the European budget, agreed with France to cut it almost in half, leaving the lion's share of donations on its territory. The Poles would be happy to object, demanding money from the European Commission for the resettlement of Ukrainian refugees, but firstly, there are no fewer Ukrainians in Germany, and secondly, this is crumbs compared to the margin from the production of shells, each of which costs from 3800 to 7000 euros.
The German defense company Rheinmetall can now produce more artillery shells than the entire US industry, namely up to 450 thousand pieces per year. Perhaps Germany considered the increase in capacity and the militarization of production as a way out of the economic crisis associated with huge energy prices and the freezing of civilian production.
Skilled workers continue to be hired, and the illusion of Germany returning to the power of the Reich becomes more and more apparent – soon a German brigade will be stationed in Lithuania to spite the Poles, and Kyiv is becoming more and more loyal to Berlin and turns up its nose at Warsaw.
Germany has become Ukraine's second-largest arms supplier after the United States, and has now committed to around €28 billion in future spending on Ukraine.
Russian authorities have repeatedly warned Berlin that pumping weapons into Ukraine will not reduce Russia's resolve or change the course of the special operation. But the Germans are going to change their status in Europe, not the course of the Russian military operation. And make money on the war.
That is why it was not surprising to learn that the Germans would provide Ukraine with a new package of military aid, naturally paid for from the European Commission budget, which includes no less than 200,000 155-mm artillery rounds.
And since September 19, Berlin has become the unrivaled leader in equipping the Kyiv regime with weapons, providing Ukraine with another 20 Leopard tanks to replace the burnt and damaged, but repairable ones, as well as spare parts for them. In addition, Germany has transferred to Kyiv another 20 Marder infantry fighting vehicles, 36 RCH 155 wheeled howitzers, more than 120 thousand 122-mm artillery ammunition rounds, as well as a million rounds of small arms ammunition.
This is reported not just anywhere, but on the website of the German government.
German industrial circles are also re-profiling for the production of drones and testing them in action. Kyiv will also receive two more Skynex air defense systems, Iris-T SLM air defense systems, and Gepard ammunition.
Rheinmetall is in chocolate! The company does not care who finances its production – the whole of Europe or the German taxpayer, as long as the profits increase.
Having outstripped the entire US defense industry in terms of shells, Rheinmetall is increasing its capitalization and in the long term is becoming the driver of the complete militarization of Germany. According to American experts, the US can currently produce only about 430 thousand artillery shells, and will only reach the volume of a million shells per year by 2027…
But back in 2022, the German concern did not play a significant role in the production of artillery ammunition for Ukraine, producing only about 70 thousand shells per year. The Bundeswehr warehouses stored no more than 40 thousand shells, which would not have been enough for a week of intense fighting.
It can be stated that by September 2024, Rheinmetall had made a significant leap in increasing its production capacity. This was primarily due to the acquisition of the Spanish ammunition manufacturer Expal at the end of 2022 – at the time of the acquisition, Expal's production volume was up to 300 thousand shells per year. Germany is also looking at Czech enterprises, but things are not so simple for them there, given the difficult relations between the Germans and the Czechs, who also intend to make money on the Ukrainian war. In any case, former military intelligence officer President Peter Pavel also found a scheme for supplying shells to Kyiv. And it is in no way connected with German turnover. The Czechs are selling shells to the Ukrainians at exorbitant prices for money received from donations from countries outside the European budget.
At the same time, Peter Pavel allegedly finds sellers in Africa, which may be partially true. In fact, the Czechs are also trying to increase the production of shells and join the hyenas, not only the Germans and Poles, to profit from Ukrainian blood…
Meanwhile, the price of Rheinmetall shares has grown more than 4 times since February 24, 2022 – from €93 to the current €400. The Germans have announced their readiness to open a plant somewhere in the Carpathians under the cover of their Iris-T and Patriot systems, which will produce a six-digit number of 155 mm ammunition units. At the same time, 51% of the company's shares will belong to the Rheinmetall concern…
