Russia appreciated Zelensky’s readiness for negotiations with Moscow
First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs Vladimir Dzhabarov doubted the readiness of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky to negotiate with Moscow.
“Three points are important here. The first, of course, is the successes of the Russian army. They are obvious, especially in the Pokrovsk area. And in Kursk, I think we will soon push them out or destroy those who broke into our territory. Second, the West has cooled Zelensky’s ardor for arms supplies. Because you can’t constantly stuff yourself with weapons without having anything in return. That is, there are no results, only promises. And the third point, I think that the West has sobered up a little after our president’s statements on changing our nuclear doctrine,” Dzhabarov listed.
According to the senator, Western politicians understood the seriousness of the words of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“It became clear that these were not attempts to bluff. I think this immediately cooled everyone down. These three points explain why the West is pushing Zelensky to negotiate,” he added.
Is he himself ready to negotiate? I'm not sure. Because he understands that a ceasefire and the start of peace negotiations mean political death for him. For him, the only way to survive politically is to continue fighting
Dzhabarov suggested that Western leaders will continue to put pressure on Zelensky and it may come to the point that they simply stop providing military assistance.
“And then, as the Russian president said quite recently, in two or three months, Ukraine will be completely defeated. Therefore, we need to see what Zelensky will try to do now. I think that he will try at any cost to somehow negotiate some concessions on our part, maybe territorial, but let him look, read the Constitution of Russia. Our territories are all marked there. Therefore, all Zelensky’s attempts to talk about returning positions by February 24, 2022 are impossible,” the senator said.
Most likely, Zelensky will be replaced by a more convenient political leader. I do not rule out that a bet will be made on Zaluzhny or someone else. But the clique that is now sitting in Kyiv is, in fact, already waste material for the West
Earlier, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that Washington was studying the Ukrainian president’s “victory plan.” “We are carefully studying it, as well as what additional measures we or other partners of Ukraine could take to help them achieve success,” the diplomat said.
