Football: Soccer-Kovac returns to Bundesliga as Wolfsburg coach

(Reuters) – VfL Wolfsburg named former Bayern Munich supervisor Niko Kovac as their new coach on a three-year contract on Tuesday, bringing the Croatian again to the Bundesliga after three years away.

The 50-year-old replaces Florian Kohfeldt, who left Wolfsburg final week after guiding the crew to a Twelfth-place end within the league.

Kovac, who has been out of labor since being sacked by Monaco in January, managed Eintracht Frankfurt earlier than spending a yr and a half at Bayern.

“He stands for constant and success-oriented work and I’m satisfied that the crew will bear his signature within the years to come,” Wolfsburg managing director Joerg Schmadtke mentioned.
