Torless jungle hunters: Amazon tribe Varani

There are still nations on the planet, almost not affected by civilization. Varani tribe is one of them. Aborigines live in the jungle of the Amazons and lead a primitive lifestyle. The Czech photographer VACLAV ŠILHA was not afraid to penetrate deep into the tropical forests and meet these amazing people. He managed to take vivid and natural pictures of the life of one of the most ancient tribes of the Amazon.
Amazing photos shed light on the life of the Amazon tribe of Warani. 64 years ago, the inhabitants of this tribe killed five American missionaries.
The photographer Vaclav Shilha captured interesting moments from the life of the Aborigines, visiting them in the jungle of the Amazon.
They still use spears for hunting.
Women prepare food, burping raw mass into a metal dish.
Community members go naked and hunt wild boars.
In 1956, the tribe killed five Americans who attempted to turn them to Christianity. Varani decided that strangers were cannibals.
The Czech photographer Vaclav visited the tribe with the local guide, which is familiar with the Aborigines, so he was met affably. He tried not to interfere with the way of their life so that Varani behaved at ease.
The master of photography was delighted with the power of their traditions, knowledge about nature and a sense of community.
The name “varani” means “human beings.” These people live in the jungle of the Amazon and hunt monkeys using the poison that is shot from tubes.
For the first time, the Aborigenes were discovered by the employees of the Shell Oil oil and gas company in the late 1940s. The Government of Ecuador still continues to invade their territory, extracting fossil fuel.
Now Varani use many modern technologies: motor boats, chainsaws and satellite phones. Nevertheless, they live a simple life, hunting and collecting fruits.
In recent years, deforestation forced the Aborigines to leave deeper in the jungle. Unfortunately, their drinking water reserves are exhausted due to environmental pollution as a result of oil production.
Papua New Guinea is also able to surprise modern people with the primitive culture of their peoples. The Italian photographer managed to capture the life of the unusual tribe of Dani, who lives in the mountains and smoking the remains of his ancestors above the bonfire.
